home craziness...

ufff... craziness is an understatement.  i, for the first time in my entire life, just closed on a home as you can see by my previous over-uber-excited post.  yup. 12.15.2011 is a date to remember.  after close to a month of interesting happenings, heart palpitations, crazy prayers, and lots of paperwork, I got the stinking ol' keys to the place.  i will be moving from my Showa room in a few weeks and getting things ready for my new "adult-like" life.  it's amazing how things can change.  wow.  it's just amazing how much changes with your signature on some papers stating you owe a lot of money to some bank.  it's just crazy.

the most amazing thing was what happened yesterday evening.  because the process to buy the house was a short-sale that required a lot of paperwork and approvals from three lenders on the seller's side, i asked my brother not to tell my parents anything until we had everything settled so that they wouldn't worry.  finally, yesterday, as soon as i got the keys, i told my brother to get them and don't tell them where they were going.  he did just that.  he told them we were going to see yet another house and if they wanted to come.  my dad decided to stay home because just three days before someone had tried to enter the apartment, as in a thief, and there needed to be someone at home all the time for the next few days.   anyway, my mom decided to come.  when he brought her i was waiting for her with my friend Tonia.  she's waiting for my brother to walk in also, when i open the doors and wave the keys in front of her.  she was like, "what...?"  totally lost, and totally doubtful.  i told her we had closed on the house and that i was handing her her keys.  she smiled.  kept quiet.  didn't say much.  she was taken aback.  then she started walking around the apartment and smiling more, giggling here and there.  she eventually laughed when she shock started to go away.  it was a great moment.  then she said she'd do the same thing to my dad.  it was hilarious.  of course, she couldn't hold it in and as soon as she got in the car she told him. it was great to see my mother happy and to have done something so adult-like for her.  they are old(ish) now, and need a place that is permanent.  it was a good feeling.

the house doesn't need much done.  just a few minor things like changing of the locks and cleaning the yard, etc.  besides that it's good.  i'll post some pictures later.  it was worth the trouble. most importantly, though, the  lessons i learned of God's faithfulness and care for me were just amazing.  i know there's more to distill from the whole experience but i am so grateful. so very grateful.  it's a great feeling.  : ) i have a home.

mi casa es *mi* casa

o.m.g.  i bought a house.  it's been such a crazy roller coaster.   can't imagine how this all came about.  i've been having palpitations for the past three weeks.  darn short sales.  i closed this morning!  i got my keys! i got my keys?  i got my keys!
