i made it to the City intact after a Bolt Bus ride. it wasn't that bad although the woman driver was a bit on the edge. she must've been on something. then they dropped us off right the middle of the street in manhattan. corner of 8th ave. and 34th or 37th--dont remember. anyway. i like Melissa's neighborhood in brooklyn. it's very accessible and has a funky feeling to it. we watched the celtics and had some beer with friends of hers--well, one friend who brought two more. on Friday I went to see a college friend and went out that night. we went to this cute italian restaurant where waiter was so funny and flirty. i totally recommend the place. it's called Pisticci. here's the website. my friend Henry, was like "WTF" towards the end of the night. gosh... we laughed so much, reminiscing about college and all the crazy people we met there. i kept making eye contact with the waiter to acknowledge his speech about specials, wine, etc. and I think he may have think that i was "haciendole ojitos" not sure. he was cute so if that was the case, well, great. it was a great time. then we headed to this hookah lounge in the Village where it seems we end up every time i go to new york. it's a fun place so it's cool. towards the end of the night i chatted with this Indo-Guyanese which turned into an interesting story that hopefully i'll share some other time. saturday night i went with Melissa to watch Sex and the City 2 and that will be another post by itself because that movie just made me feel weird. then we headed back to the Village for some food. both nights i ended up going to bed at like 4 or 5am so the relaxation part of the vacation was so not there. but what was i thinking? it's new york city for heaven's sake. it was fun though.
